SPECIAL:

i. Gallantry Award on Meritorious Service:

His Excellency, the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir awarded him ‘Gallentry Award’ during the State function of Republic Day of 1982, in recongnition to his services as meritorious, exemplary dedication to duty and courage exhibited by him in apprhending smugglers of Forest Contrabands from J&K to outside the State.

ii. Training courses / other assignments:

(a)   Attended number of courses on Management skills/Administration, Management of Natural Resources and on various technical matters. Worked as All India Service Officer (IFS) for more than thirty years in Environment & Forest/Wildlife. Planted more than three million plants across the State of J&K, besides protection of Natural Resources of State. Also served as Commissioner/Secretary to Govt. in Agriculture Production Department (Department of Animal/Sheep Husbandry) in State Govt.

(b)   Member of Executive Council of the University of Kurukashetra (Haryana) during 2001-03.

(c)    Executive Member of Jammu Club, Jammu.

(d)   Empanelled as an Expert for the Selection of ‘Forest cum Environmental Scientists and Executives’ in the Indian Council of Forestry Research, Dehradun.

iii. Study tour to Foreign Countries, on Forest Policy:

            Performed study tour to various foreign countries i.e.  Sweden, Germany & Kenya during the year 1998, as one of the member in “four member team” comprising officers from Govt. of India & U.N. (FAO) in connection with their Forest Policy.
